Glossary
Title tag
The title tag is a page's <title> — the clickable headline in search results. Google shows about 50–60 characters of it.
A good title says what the page is, leads with the words people search for, and stays unique across the site. Google may rewrite titles that are too long, stuffed with keywords or don't match the page.
