Sponsored link
A sponsored link is a paid or affiliate link marked rel="sponsored", the way Google asks sites to label links that were bought.
Also called
rel="sponsored"paid linkGoogle's guidelines say a link someone paid for — an ad, a sponsorship, an affiliate link — should carry rel="sponsored" (or nofollow), so it doesn't pass ranking credit. Selling followed links can get both sites penalised.
On MakerRadar, every paid placement is labelled Sponsored on the page and its ads link out marked as sponsored.

- Featured placementA featured placement is a paid spot that pins a product to a fixed position on a board or page for a set time, always labelled as paid.
